techne liquid calibration baths & thermoregulators

What we offer?

Budenberg Middle East offers complete range of Techne liquid calibration baths, refrigeration bath and thermoregulators covering temperature range -40°C to +250°C.

The negative temperatures is achieved by Techne Dip and flow coolers.

Techne invented the clip-on Thermoregulator in 1948 and today the 3 models offer a highly accurate solution suitable for laboratory and calibration applications. Precise temperature control between -40°C and +250°C is available and TU models feature RS232 connection for programing via TechneWorks software.

Techne Liquid Calibration Baths are compact, accurate baths used for THERMAL CALIBRATION of temperature sensors and allow precisely controlled externally circulated liquid. Temperature control is via a thermoregulator (available separately).

Techne Refrigerated Baths provide completely self-contained chilled liquid circulating systems for THERMAL CALIBRATION – offering temperatures between -35°C and +100°C. Temperature control is via a thermoregulator (available separately).

Techne Unheated Baths are designed for use with a thermoregulator (available separately) to achieve precise stable temperatures up to +200°C. They can be used in conjunction with a Dip Cooler or Flow Cooler to achieve sub-ambient temperatures down to -35°C.

Tehne Thermoregulator are designed to be used with Techne unheated water baths or any other suitable laboratory vessels. Available in three “Clip On” units, they will heat, circulate and safety control the temperature of the liquid in the bath within precise limits.

Technical Specifications

For temperatures up to 250°C, we recommend the use of LCB series Liquid Calibration Baths.

LCB baths fitted with a TU-20HT thermoregulators are not suitable for use with a flow cooler. Dip Coolers are suitable for use with TU-20HT thermoregulators.

LCB Probe Holder

The new FBCAL7PH LCB probe holder is an accessory designed to allow multiple probe positioning and calibration within the LCB. It can be used for 5, 7 and 12 litre baths and acts as a lid as well as a probe holder. The Probe holder has spare mounting studs to suit all 3 bath models. The probe holder has holes for 10 off probes to Ø12.5mm and also 8 off probes to Ø6.5mm.

High Temperature Cooling Coil

This accessory is designed for assisting in cooling a hot bath more rapidly by flowing tap water or chilled liquid through it, this simple coil tube attached to the base of all Techne thermoregulators with ease. The water being circulated through the coil should be at least 5°C cooler than the set bath temperature.Cooling. It fits to any TU-20 thermoregulator unit.

Flat lids

Manufactured of stainless steel and available to fit all sizes of temperature controlled bath to help prevent evaporation losses. Gabled lids provide extra working headroom within the bath.

Gabled lids

Manufactured of stainless steel and available to fit all sizes of temperature controlled bath to help prevent evaporation losses. Gabled lids provide extra working headroom within the bath.

Adjustable Trays

Supported by a ball chain and clip, the stainless steel trays can be used to alter the depth of the bath.

Polypropylene Spheres

A ball blanket is an effective way of reducing evaporation and loss of heat from a water bath. It acts as effectively as a lid, whilst providing instant access to the bath. The 25mm diameter spheres are supplied in packs of 250.

This high temperature fluid offers industry a non-toxic, versatile bath fluid that has proven to be cost effective and thermally stable at temperatures up to +315°C. This fluid has demonstrated excellent performance over a wide range of temperature without compromising economics or system integrity. Unlike the less stable mineral oil based fluid, our high temperature fluid provides the user with the confidence and reliability without the premium price of other fluids. Recommended temperature range +60 to +250°C.

Benefits and features

  • Low viscosity
  • Improves bath uniformity and stability
  • Enhanced heat-up and cool down rates
  • Lower cost than glycol and silicone oil fluids
  • Safe and non-toxic
  • Convenient 18L (5 gallon) container

Notes

  • Not for long term (more than a few hours) continuous use above 100°C because excessive oxidation will occur.
  • As with most high temperature fluids, a fume hood is recommended for operating temperatures above 150°C.
  • Should only be used with the following plastics; ABS, Epoxy, Acetal, PTFE, Viton, Kalrez, Chemraz, Fiberglass, Graphites, Fluroelastimers.
  • For other plastic types contact Techne for specific recommendations.
Please note

There is no absolute number of times Techne oils can be heated and cooled but 2 things must be considered.

  • If the bath cycles fluid between ambient and maximum recommended temperature, then over time the fluid may degrade. The amount of time this takes can vary from bath to bath. So if the user identifies changes in colour, viscosity and temperature efficiency to the fluid this indicates the fluid is ready to be changed.
  • If the fluid is being cooled to sub-zero temperatures, moisture from the atmosphere can condense into the fluid and crystalize when the fluid is being cooled down. The customer will see the fluid turn a slightly milky white colour due to ice crystals forming.

The Techne Dip and Flow Coolers work in conjunction with a Techne thermoregulators. The bath liquid flows through the unit which continually extracts heat from the bath fluid by means of the heat exchanger which is built into the unit.

The cooling head of the Techne Dip Cooler fits neatly and unobtrusively into the corner of the bath and can be secured with a specially designed mounting bracket (supplied). If cooling can be achieved by using cold tap water, a dip cooler is recommended as it conserves water and is easier and more convenient to use.

Techne Dip and Flow Coolers are designed for use when ambient temperatures down to -35°C are required.

Features

  • Two models are available
  • Compact refrigeration units for achieving temperatures down to -35°C * (using Techne low-temp oil)
  • Cooling head of the RU Series Dip Cooler fits neatly into the corner of a Techne liquid baths

The CH-5 Unit is designed for use in conjunction with the TECAL 140 Calibrator to achieve calibration temperatures down to -40°C. The unit provides a Chilled water supply which is pumped through the Heatsinks on the Tecal 140 to allow the Tecal to reach -40°C.

In the normal ambient temperatures of up to 20°C the minimum temperature obtainable with the Tecal 140 is 45°C below ambient; by artificially cooling the heatsink of the units with water from the chiller -40°C can be obtained.

The unit is designed to run on distilled or deionised water.

The CH-5 can also be used to pass chilled water through the cooling coil on the Liquid Calibration Baths (LCB) and Cooling Probe (FDB00CP) giving rapid cooling or a minimum temperature of +10°C.
